once upon a time in Boracay (December 2009 - January 2010)

It was our first time to do a little travelling together. First stop, Boracay island.
took a Zest Air flight to Kalibo and of course the plane ride will not be complete without a photo op.

okay enough of it!

It took us less than an hour to get to Kalibo airport and another 2 and a half hour travel from Kalibo to Caticlan.  Well, lucky for us who got to stay a little longer than 3 days in the island. And oftentimes, airfares going to Kalibo are quite cheaper than Caticlan.

Our hotel. Alta Vista de Boracay. A Southeast Asian inspired luxury resort.

The hotel's poolside is overlooking Fairways and Bluewater golf course and a fabulous view of the sea as well.

I really loved this loft suite where we stayed in. It didn't seem like staying in a hotel and best of all it has a private balcony overlooking Boracay's magnificent view.

Shisha at Summerplace with our good friend Lenny.

I absolutely enjoyed this romantic dinner at Waling Waling's unique 'cabanas' right at the beach (elevated and covered beach-huts). I also love the hammocks right in front of our table!

'Boracay eye' is basically the small ferris wheel located at the heart of 'D Mall.
got a henna tattoo which is quite famous in the island.
one of the highlights of our trip was 'the proposal' followed by a dinner at a treetop resto with our closest friends. out of the blue Jay popped the question in a far far away beach of station1 at sunset! i was immediately caught off guard but definitely the best feeling on earth!

paraw sailing for two is just romantic!
dune buggy. best for strolling around the island! usual route is to go up to Mt. Luho and Butterfly Garden of Fairways and Bluewater Golf and Country Club.

getting close to nature at Fairways and Bluewater butterfly garden.

luckily, our hotel has a private access to serene Puka Beach. named after the precious shells that are found along its shore, Puka Beach is the perfect place for some R&R!
this beach is also perfect for photo ops because it's not as busy as White beach.

soaking up the sun. but must not forget to put sunscreen lotion on!

celebrating New Year's Eve in Boracay for the first time! quite amazed by the fireworks in White beach!
spectator mode. gazing at Jay's kitesurf tricks around Bolabog beach while getting a tan.

and of course Jay trying to impress me with his tricks. lol!
It was indeed a very remarkable trip for me. i would like to thank Jay (now my husband) for introducing me to travelling and I'm looking forward to more trips together here and abroad!  Much love! xxx
